Dumai, 28 Juli 2025 – SMK Perikanan Provinsi Riau terus berupaya membekali para siswanya dengan pengalaman praktis terbaik. Hari ini, taruna-taruni program keahlian Nautika Kapal Penangkap Ikan (NKPI) melaksanakan kunjungan lapangan yang sangat edukatif ke Pelabuhan TPI Purnama-Dumai. Kunjungan ini fokus pada pengenalan lebih mendalam tentang fungsi dan operasional Pengawasan Sumber Daya Kelautan dan Perikanan (PSDKP).
Kegiatan ini menjadi kesempatan emas bagi para siswa untuk melihat secara langsung armada PSDKP. Mereka disambut di Kapal Pengawas Perikanan Hiu 16 yang dinakhodai oleh Capt. Mukani dan Kapal Pengawas Barracuda 01 di bawah kepemimpinan Capt. Aldi. Para taruna mendapatkan penjelasan komprehensif mengenai peran vital kapal-kapal ini dalam menjaga kedaulatan dan kelestarian sumber daya kelautan Indonesia dari praktik illegal fishing dan pelanggaran lainnya.
Didampingi langsung oleh Kepala Jurusan NKPI-TKPI, Bapak Joko Rubiyanto Mengkuwibowo, S.T., beserta guru-guru produktif lainnya, fokus utama pembelajaran adalah mengenal dan memahami alat-alat navigasi canggih yang ada di atas kapal. Para taruna diajak untuk berinteraksi dengan teknologi navigasi modern seperti radar, GPS, peta elektronik, sistem sonar, hingga perangkat komunikasi maritim. Mereka belajar bagaimana alat-alat tersebut digunakan untuk memastikan keamanan pelayaran, memantau pergerakan kapal, dan mendukung operasi pengawasan yang efektif di laut.
Kunjungan ini tak hanya memperkaya pengetahuan teknis para taruna NKPI tentang navigasi dan operasional kapal pengawas, tetapi juga menumbuhkan kesadaran akan pentingnya peran mereka sebagai calon garda terdepan dalam menjaga keberlanjutan sektor kelautan dan perikanan nasional. Pengalaman langsung ini diharapkan dapat menginspirasi mereka untuk menjadi SDM unggul yang berdedikasi tinggi di masa depan.
